Nathalie Emmanuel

Nathalie Emmanuel, a British actor best known for her character in Missandei (HBO's fantasy epic Game of Thrones) from between 2011 and 2019 She was also a British actor. Born and raised in Southend-on-the-Sea which is a resort on the sea town located in Essex, Emmanuel was drawn to the stage from a young age. Nathalie started taking acting, singing, as well as dancing classes at 3 years of age. Her parents were amazed. Emmanuel gained speed as a performer and in the mid-90s, she was playing a young Nala as Nala in the West End show of the acclaimed production of the musical "The the Lion King." Emmanuel tried out for roles on both television and films when she was still a teenager. She was able to land her first role of note when she appeared as Sasha Valentine in the British soap series Hollyoaks (Channel 4 1995-). Emmanuel played the character for four seasons and then left the show in. Emmanuel's next big break was three years later, when she was cast as Missandei who was the translator for Daenerys Targaryen (portrayed by Emilia Clarke), on HBO's "Game of Thrones."
